The Actual Pilgrimage of the MTA
The PILGRIM MTA is carried to many people in a special wooden frame, similar to the original form used by John Pozzobon. A coordinator is responsible for each Pilgrim MTA, which are numbered from the national office. Each traveling shrine should be blessed at one of our Schoenstatt Shrines (or local Schoenstatt Centers.) It is at these places where the journey of the Pilgrim MTA begins.
The Pilgrim MTA can travel among families, to homes, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, schools, universities… If a group of families or individuals receives her, she usually visits the home of each member at least once a month. The coordinator oversees the schedule of these monthly visits of the Pilgrim MTA.
If the coordinator of the Pilgrim MTA uses her to visit nursing homes, hospitals, etc. he/she should see to it that the shrine reaches several people. If the journey of a Pilgrim MTA would end in your area, we ask that you send the shrine back to the local center so that she in her shrine picture can travel in another area.
New pilgrimage groups can be formed through contact with the local center. A coordinator should assume responsibility for each new group.
A prayer service in the home may begin with the prayers of welcome found on the back of the Pilgrim MTA. Then all or part of the rosary could be prayed. Other prayers may also be included.
